Peter Ojabo: ‘Don’t let him die’ – Idoma community cries out to Buhari, Nigerian Army as military abandons soldier who fell ill while fighting Boko Haram
The Idoma people of Nigeria have cried to President Muhammadu Buhari, the Nigerian Army, Defence Headquarters and the military authorities to come to the rescue of their son, Peter Ojabo.
IDOMA VOICE reports that the military personnel, who hailed from, Opialu-Edumoga in Okpokwu Local Government Area of Benue State, was deployed to Monguno in Borno State in 2013 to fight Boko Haram killers where he eventually fell ill and had to return home from the battlefield.
IDOMA VOICE gathered that Ojabo was diagnosed of multiple myeloma (bone marrow cancer)
He is currently at Jos University Teaching Hospital.
Amazingly, he has been responsible for his treatments all these years with a salary of NGN57,000 without any support from the military as his condition if worsening.
Reacting to the development, some Idoma sons and daughters took to their Facebook walls to beg the federal government to safe the soul of their kinsman who fell ill in boot.
Here are some comments collated by our reporter from Facebook.

Majors Kennels Ugowke: Main reason why I hate the Nigerian army … how will a soldier be collecting 57k money that is not enough to feed and for this sacrifices they make to fight for the country they should be paid well but the generals and office men chop everything up.
Sunday Agada: If federal government abandons him, what about Benue State people? Are they still going to abandon him also?
Adeyi Oche: The Nigerian government should look into this. We won’t forgive them if he dies.
Majo Gens Ochigbano, Enenche, Senator Abba Moro and our big brothers out there should not let this man die oo.
