Philip Agbese has outperformed past Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo lawmakers in the House of Reps — Aide, Akor Ikwuoche

The Senior Legislative Aide (SLA – DG General Services), to Hon. Philip Agbese, Chief Akor Ikwuoche, has declared that his principal has outperformed all previous lawmakers from the Ado, Okpokwu, and Ogbadibo Federal Constituency since Nigeria’s return to democracy.
Ikwuoche made this known while reeling out the lawmaker’s achievements in the last one year and six months, ranging from impactful bills, infrastructural projects, poverty alleviation initiatives, to human capital development across the Enone constituency in an interview with IDOMA TV.
The Senior Legislative Aide (SLA), Akor Ikwuoche, has declared that Hon. Philip Agbese has so far outperformed all previous lawmakers from the Ado, Okpokwu, and Ogbadibo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
“When you talk about his achievements, everybody that comes from Benue State and beyond knows that Honorable Dr Philip Agbese has performed beyond expectations in the past one year and six months.
“Principally, as a lawmaker, his primary assignment is lawmaking. And to demonstrate competence in that regard, as a first-timer, he outperformed those who have even been there for the past sixteen years.
“He first sponsored a bill for the establishment of a College of Agriculture in Agila, Ado local government area of Benue State.
That bill has been graciously passed by the House of Reps. He also sponsored a bill for the establishment of a Federal University of Agriculture in Ute-Okpu, Delta State. That bill will soon be passed. In aggregate, he has sponsored 10 bills.
And by the grace of God, most of them are at the verge of passage now and concurrence by the Senate. And they will all be passed because they are people and development-oriented bills. Beyond that, he also sponsored a motion as a matter of national importance to investigate the robbery in Otukpo, Benue State, particularly since he came on board. And that motion was adopted.
“Since he got to the National Assembly, he’s not the sleeping type. Almost on a monthly basis, he sponsors bills, and they are very popular bills that receive easy support from members.
“Then, having said that, in the area of human capital development, poverty alleviation and infrastructural development: the only stadium in the Enone constituency, which comprises Ado, Okpokwu and Ogbadibo, the largest constituency in Benue State and the only one with three local government areas combined in one, was built in 1992 by the military administration but abandoned by successive governments. Dr. Philip Agbese started remodeling and renovating that stadium, and it’s almost near completion now.
“He also established and built a maternity home, an annex to the Federal Medical Centre outreach in Efekwo, Otukpa, Ogbadibo Local Government. It has been fully equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment, a motorized solar-powered borehole and all facilities required to make it a state-of-the-art medical facility.
In Igumale, Ado Local Government, he is constructing a special school for children with autism, down syndrome, and other mentally challenged young people that need to be developed. And that project, by the grace of God, will be commissioned before the end of this year.
“He also constructed some classroom blocks in Apoge Ogbilolo, in Apa, Agila, Ado local government area.
“And also in Ojigbo, in another local government area, he constructed classroom blocks.
“In Ogbadibo Local Government, he electrified the streets, the nooks, and crannies of Ehaje Ward 2 with solar streetlights; Itabono Wards 1 and 2 in Ogbadibo Local Government with solar streetlights; Orokam Ward 1 and Orokam Ward 3 with solar streetlights.
“When it comes to poverty alleviation, just recently, he distributed over 35 motorcycles to young people to empower them to go about their businesses and about 35 tricycles as well.
“He has also empowered some youths by training them in ICT and providing them with state-of-the-art laptops — over 300 of them.”
