Ace music executive and CEO of Kennis Music, Kenny Ogungbe, has addressed rumors that he was responsible for the split of the group Plantashun Boiz.
There have been rumors suggesting that the breakup of Plantashun Boiz occurred after Kennis Music signed the star singer, 2Face.
In a recent episode of The Honest Bunch podcast, Baba Keke clarified that the group had already disbanded when 2Face approached him for assistance.
He said, “People have been saying I’m the one responsible for the breakup of Plantashun Boiz. That’s not true. 2Face came to me himself after the group had already broken up, wanting to sign with Kennis Music. Eedris Abdulkareem also told me to sign him, which I did.”
Plantashun Boiz, a group comprising 2Face, Blackface, and Faze, split in 2004 after the release of their sophomore album Sold Out.
In 2007, the group reunited for a third and final album, Plan B, before splitting again.
