The Plateau State Government has announced a 48-hour curfew in Jos North Local Government Area following a deadly attack.

The state’s Commissioner for Information, Joyce Ramnap, made this known in a statement issued on Monday, explaining that the decision was taken in response to a violent incident in the Angwan Rukuba community on Sunday night.

According to her, the assault by gunmen resulted in multiple fatalities and left several residents injured, heightening security concerns in the area.

‎”The Plateau government, in conjunction with the security agencies have imposed a 48-hour curfew within Jos-North LGA.

”The curfew will run from midnight on Sunday, March 29, to Wednesday, April 1,” she said.

Ramnap condemned the attack, describing it as unprovoked and targeting innocent citizens.

She urged residents to remain calm and comply with the directive, assuring that authorities are taking necessary steps to prevent further violence and bring those responsible to justice. (NAN)
