What is the PNP?

PNP consists of mini-immigration programs run by provincial governments in Canada. These programs enable provinces to nominate immigrants who meet specific needs for Canadian permanent residency. While provinces nominate candidates, final immigration decisions are made at the federal level.

The PNP Process Involves

1. Express Entry Pool

Candidates interested in Canadian immigration apply to the Express Entry pool, receiving a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. A minimum CRS score is usually required for an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency.

2. Provincial Nomination

Candidates with CRS scores below the minimum can apply for PNP through provinces or territories. Meeting a province’s eligibility criteria earns them a nomination, adding 600 CRS points and boosting their ITA chances.
