The Enugu State Police Command has successfully captured seven infamous criminal suspects who have been conducting their illegal activities within the Holy Ghost vicinity of the Enugu metropolis for an extended period.
During the operation, the police managed to seize a significant haul, which included nine women’s handbags, two wallets, two wrenches, an iron saw, a functional Dell laptop, a Zenith Bank ATM card under the name “Joy Akiji,” a National Identification Number (NIN) registration slip, and various other incriminating pieces of evidence, all of which had been forcibly taken from their victims.
This news was relayed in an official statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, on Wednesday in Enugu.
Ndukwe clarified that the arrests stemmed from a meticulously executed raid in the Holy Ghost vicinity of the Enugu metropolis, acting upon the directives of the state’s Commissioner of Police, Mr. Kanayo Uzuegbu.
This operation took place in the evening on Friday, October 27, 2023.
“Police operatives raided Holy Ghost railway axis, Christ Chemist, Old Park and environs, arresting seven male suspects notorious for attacking and dispossessing innocent and unsuspecting citizens of their belongings.
“The suspects included: Okonkwo Sunday, 35, (a.k.a. Oga Sunny); Nwankwoala Tochukwu, 25, (a.k.a. TC Boy); Ogbu Mmaduabuchi, 18; Miracle Chukwu, 20; Nwali Chinedu, 23; Ananchonam Chinecherem, 18, (a.k.a. Razor) and Junior Nwamini, 20, (a.k.a. Small), all of no known addresses.
“The suspects all confessed to the crime and have been arraigned in court and remanded in the Correctional Custodial Centre,” he said.
