The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested five suspected kidnappers, a notorious car thief, and a spiritualist, recovering a stolen Toyota Hilux and other items as evidence.
According to ASP Mansir Hassan, the command’s spokesperson, three suspects—Umar Haruna, Shuaibu Umar, and Hairatu Muntari, also known as Talatu—were captured during an operation in Kundun Village, targeting Haruna and a gang leader still at large. Investigations revealed ransom money from previous kidnappings was used to buy bags of maize, which were seized as evidence.
In a related case, Hassan reported that on October 31, a resident of Agaji village reported his 3-year-old daughter missing. The following day, he received a ransom call demanding N2 million for her release. After the ransom was paid, the child was returned. Following a report on November 3, detectives tracked and arrested the suspect, Isa Sa’adu, on November 8. Sa’adu confessed to the kidnapping during interrogation, and officers recovered items including a Gionee mobile phone, N400,000, a Boxer motorcycle, a bicycle, and a bag of rice.
