Police arrest man for abusing 4-year-old son in Ekiti

The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested Kunle Ogunnusi, a resident of Oke-Ila, Ado-Ekiti, for allegedly assaulting his 4-year-old son, leaving the child with injuries under the guise of “correction.”

According to a statement by the police spokesman, Mr. Sunday Abutu, Ogunnusi was apprehended after concerned residents of the Oke-Ila community reported the abuse.

During interrogation, Ogunnusi admitted to the crime, claiming he was provoked by his son’s behavior. Further investigation revealed that the suspect has a history of abusing the child, often using dangerous objects to inflict injuries for minor provocations.

The statement also quoted the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Akinwale Adeniran, who confirmed that Ogunnusi would be charged in court accordingly.
