The Enugu State Police Command has arrested a 22-year-old man for allegedly vandalizing cables at a telecommunications mast in the Naira Triangle area of Enugu metropolis.
The arrest was confirmed by the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, in a statement on Friday.
According to Ndukwe, the suspect was apprehended on Wednesday by officers from the Thinker’s Corner Division, who responded swiftly to a distress call.
“His arrest led to the recovery of several lengths of vandalized cables, though their value is yet to be determined,” Ndukwe said.
He added that tools used in the crime, including a plier and screwdriver, were recovered from the suspect. The individual will be arraigned after the ongoing investigation is completed.
