The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two major drug dealers of Indian hemp, Ibrahim Audu, 31, and Alkasim Musa, 32, both residents of Ganye town.
Spokesperson of the command, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, who disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, August 18, said the suspects were arrested by the Divisional police officer (DPO) Toungo.
“Both dealers were caught smuggling large cache of carnabis into the state through Dakalaji,Taraba border, Kiri District on 16/8/2021, thereby denying them their target consumers that are mostly into violent crimes,” he stated.
The PPRO also disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Adamu Alhaji, has reinvigorated special security action plan to reinforce the ongoing fight against banditry, kidnapping, armed robbery, activities and other violent crimes across the border areas.
He said the new special operation strategy which will be intelligence-led and community-driven, will be executed in sustained collaboration with the Security agencies, vigilantes and hunters.
