Police arrest two suspects with AK-47 in Bauchi market

Bauchi State Police Command arrested two men for allegedly possessing a fabricated AK-47 rifle and ammunition at Boto Market in Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area.

The suspects, 18-year-old Abdulgafar Mohammed and 25-year-old Yusuf Isa, both hailing from Barkin Ladi, Plateau State, were caught attempting to sell the firearm for N580,000.

According to police investigations, the duo traveled from Plateau to Boto Market with the weapon. SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, the command’s spokesperson, confirmed that the arrests were part of efforts to curb the illegal arms trade in the state.

Wakil added that investigations are ongoing, and the suspects will be prosecuted once completed.
