The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended a 25-year-old woman on allegations of embezzling N3 million from a company’s funds by diverting them into her personal account.
The arrest was confirmed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, on Tuesday in Lagos.
According to Hundeyin, the suspect, along with several co-workers at a catering company, allegedly conspired to divert proceeds from the sale of the company’s products into their personal accounts, remitting only a small portion to the company.
“Over N3 million has been traced to the suspect’s account,” Hundeyin disclosed, adding that the suspect is currently being held under a remand warrant as investigations continue.
