Police arrests suspected vandal on Third Mainland Bridge, hunt for others

Officers from the Onikan Division of the Lagos Police Command have apprehended a suspect, Yakubu Yusuf for vandalizing a section of the railings on the Third Mainland Bridge.

This information was shared in a statement on X.com by the Lagos State Police Command on Wednesday.

The statement indicated that Yusuf’s arrest came after the police received tips about the vandalism occurring near the Old School of Nursing area of the bridge.

The statement reads, “Officers of Onikan Division after receiving information of the activities of some vandals who were vandalizing the railings of the bridge by Old School of Nursing inward Third Mainland Bridge, arrested one Yakubu Yusuf ‘m’ aged 28 and twenty one (21) long pieces of aluminum railings were recovered.”

The statement also confirmed that investigations are underway to locate and apprehend additional suspects involved in the vandalism.

It concluded, “Efforts are ongoing to capture the other suspects who are currently evading arrest.”
