Police bust baby factory in Lagos, rescue 10 victims

The Lagos State Police Command has uncovered a baby factory in the Ijegun area of the state, rescuing 10 victims and arresting three suspects linked to the illegal operation.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the development during a press briefing on Monday. He said the discovery was made following a tip-off received on Saturday.

According to Hundeyin, the arrested suspects include Mariam Vincent (35), Orie Ruth (23), and Ujunwa Ifeanyi (18).

Among those rescued were three children identified as Destiny (7), Miracle (5), and Success (2). The adult victims were named as Precious (24), Magdalene (25), Adaobi (23), Princess (22), Ifeanyi (25), and Amaka (26).

Hundeyin disclosed that the victims are currently receiving proper care and support. Preliminary investigations revealed that the victims were abducted from various parts of Lagos State.

He added that the suspects had confessed to the crime and would be charged to court once investigations are concluded.
