Police foil kidnap attempt, rescue 30 victims in Katsina
The Katsina State Police Command has rescued 30 kidnapped residents and foiled a bandit attack in Unguwar Sarkin Fulani Dutsen Dadi, Faskari Local Government Area.
Police spokesperson DSP Abubakar Sadiq said in a statement on Wednesday that officers acted swiftly after receiving reports of the attack around 1:00 a.m. The bandits, armed with dangerous weapons, had abducted residents and stolen livestock, including two cows and 92 sheep and goats.
A police patrol team engaged the attackers in a gun battle, forcing them to flee with injuries. All victims were rescued unhurt, and the stolen animals were recovered.
Efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspects. Katsina Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Musa, commended the officers for their bravery and urged residents to support the police with timely information.
