The Kaduna State Police Command successfully thwarted a kidnapping attempt targeting a man and his wife in the Rigasa area of Igabi Local Government Area. Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, confirmed the incident, stating that operatives rescued the couple around 2:05 am on Saturday.
Hassan explained that the police patrol intercepted a call reporting bandits invading a house between Train Station to Mando Junction and Mahuta village of Igabi. The operatives swiftly mobilized to the area, engaging the bandits and forcing them to abandon their captives.
The husband, who sustained injuries on his shoulder and head, received prompt medical attention at Yusuf Danstsho Memorial Hospital. The wife was successfully reunited with her family. The police have intensified patrols to apprehend the culprits, while Hassan reassured the public that the Rigasa area remains relatively calm.
Emphasizing the commitment of the police to eradicate crime in the state, Hassan urged residents to provide credible information to aid law enforcement efforts.
