Police give update on police constables recruitment, CBT exams

The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Aderemi Adeoye, has issued a stern warning to candidates participating in the Police Recruitment Computer-Based Test against engaging in any form of examination malpractice. Adeoye emphasized that anyone found guilty will be arrested, thoroughly investigated, and prosecuted.

Additionally, Adeoye has directed a close security monitoring of the exercise at the designated centers across the state to prevent any untoward incidents or unforeseen developments.

The CP also took the opportunity to congratulate all successful candidates who have qualified for the CBT test stage, reiterating that the entire recruitment process is free of charge.

This information was disclosed in a press statement released by the state police spokesman, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, on Sunday.

The statement mentioned, “The Anambra State Police Command wishes to inform the public, especially Anambra State indigenes, that the scheduled date for the commencement of the 2022 Police Recruitment Computer-Based Test for the qualified general duty candidates is set to take place between March 5 and 6, 2024.

“The Computer-Based Test (CBT) will be conducted at the following designated centers:

Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University E-Library CTR II, Igbariam
Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam
Grafil Computers Limited, Grafil House High Tension Road, Opposite Thrillers, Aroma, Awka.

“Qualified candidates are required to come with their CBT slip and any other documents as stipulated in the online application portal. Candidates are advised to visit the recruitment portal: https://www.apply.policerecruitment.gov to confirm their status, centers, date, and time for their CBT.

“It is important to note that the CBT is specifically for general duty candidates. A date and time will be communicated to specialist candidates through official channels.

“To this effect, the Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye, while congratulating all successful candidates for qualifying for the CBT test stage, emphasizes that the recruitment exercise is free. He has also ordered a tight security monitoring of the exercise at the designated centers across the state to forestall any untoward incidents or unforeseen developments.”

The statement further emphasized that candidates are expected to conduct themselves properly and refrain from any form of examination malpractice. Any individual caught engaging in such malpractice will face arrest, investigation, and prosecution according to the law.

“Candidates and members of the public who observe any form of improper conduct by any officer during the exercise are encouraged to report via the following phone numbers: 07039194332 or 08039334002.

“The dress code for candidates is white T-shirts, white short knickers, and white canvas,” the statement concluded.
