One inspector John Agbo serving with the Nigeria Police at Uglegi Police Station, Otukpa, Ogbadibo LGA, Benue State, has been accused of raping a 14-year-old mentally unstable girl.

The incident, accoding to humanitarian worker, Ukan Kurugh, happened on the 11th of July 2022.

Kurugh said, on the said day, Inspector John took the girl without the knowledge of anyone in her family and kept her locked up indoors from around 10am until about 3pm.

He said, “After repeatedly having carnal knowledge of her, he got a razor blade and shaved off the hair in her private parts. Till date no one knows why he did this.

“The matter was reported to the DPO at the Uglegi Police Station.

“Mr John who confessed to have committed the crime also made an attempt to pay monetary compensation to cover up the matter. This was done with the support of the DPO and the IPO.
“The officers are trying to make the case go away. But the young girl and her family are traumatised.
Why did Inspector John rape her?

“Will he go unpunished for this wicked act?
Why did he shave off her pubic hair after raping her?
Does he intend to use that for some ritual, if he hasn’t already?”
