Police nab six kidnappers, seize N2.3 million ransom in Delta

Police in Delta State have apprehended six individuals suspected of kidnapping in the Ebrumede Division, located in Uvwie Local Government Area.

Along with the suspects, authorities recovered N2,344,000 in ransom money and several stolen mobile phones.

Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, shared these details during a press briefing in Asaba.

CP Abaniwonda explained that the arrests followed credible intelligence. While patrolling, Ebrumede Division operatives stopped a tricycle with six passengers.

“The suspects attempted to flee upon seeing the police, but the operatives pursued and apprehended them.”

“A search revealed the recovery of N2,344,000 and several suspected stolen phones, which were later linked to kidnapped victims. The money was identified as part of the ransom paid for their release.”
