The Kaduna State Police have detained a suspected armed robber along with an accomplice found in possession of numerous Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards. The Public Relations Officer for the police command, ASP Mansir Hassan, confirmed the arrest during an interview with NAN in Kaduna on Monday.
The apprehension occurred on Sunday following a complaint lodged by the victim. According to Hassan, the robbery suspect, along with two accomplices, intercepted a woman and her son in the Kawntaresha area in Sabon Gari, Zaria. The assailants, armed with daggers and a sharp knife, attacked the mother and injured her son.
“They robbed her of a handbag containing her ATM card, phone, and an undisclosed amount of cash, along with other valuables,” explained Hassan.
Following preliminary investigations, one suspect was arrested in the Muchiya area of Sabon Gari, Zaria. The apprehended individual, found in possession of a long knife, confessed to conspiring with two others, who are currently evading capture, to commit the alleged offense.
