Police nab three suspects for damaging farmland in Ogun

The Ogun State Police Command has apprehended three suspects for allegedly destroying farmland belonging to Mr. Dada Tope in Ado-Odo Local Government Area.

The suspects, identified as Amosu Yaopaul, Victor Samuel, and Bogbe Bateremi, were arrested after Mr. Tope, 38, reported the incident. According to the command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, Tope discovered the suspects uprooting his palm trees when he visited his farm in Okojo Onilogbo.

Police operatives were dispatched to the scene, where the suspects claimed that their leader, Oluwaseun Sunday, had instructed them to destroy the trees. Mr. Tope stated that he had purchased the trees for N55,000 from individuals identified as Suru Jacob, also known as Baba Ope, along with Arise Sunday, Solomon Oriyomi, and others.

Odutola praised the swift police response and noted that similar past incidents had led to fatal outcomes. She urged the public to report such activities to the authorities rather than resorting to violence.
