Police reacts to death of over 20 party goers in birthday party in Ogun

The Nigeria Police Force, Ogun State Command on Monday, said that no resident of the state died mysteriously after attending a birthday party in Akute, Ifo Local Government area of Ogun State.

The Command also called on members of the public with enough evidences of the incident to come forward.

In a telephone conversation, the Spokesperson of the Command Abimbola Oyeyemi said he was yet to get any report pertaining to the incident as at 5pm on Monday.

The social media has been awashed with the story of 20 friends who died mysteriously after attending the birthday party organised by an advanced fraudster popularly called ”Yahoo Boy” in Alagbole/Akute area of Ogun State.

The incident was said to have occurred some about a fortnight ago after which a young man took to his twitter account mourning his friends.

According to the social media reports, the birthday party was celebrated in a grand style with over 50 of the celebrant’s friends in attendance.

Sadly, 20 of them were reported to have started dying mysteriously after the fun-filled night.

However, Oyeyemi said members of the public should do some findings about stories circulating on the social media platforms.

He said, ”Anybody who has the contact of the venue and victims should come forward so that investigations can commence because nobody has incidented the report at any of our Police Divisions.

“Please, members of the public should intimate us with such reports to enable us do the needful. The story is misleading and the media should be careful about such,” he said.
