Men of the Zamfara State Police Command have arrested a suspected notorious car snatcher after refusing to collect N250,000 bribe from him.

The spokesperson for the command, SP Shehu Muhammad, made this known while speaking to journalists at the command headquarters in Gusau on Tuesday.

Muhammad disclosed that a team of policemen on duty at Tazame village on the Gusau-Zaria Road arrested the suspected car snatcher, Surajo Ibrahim, of the Gidan Dare area of Sokoto.

According to him, the suspect was arrested with an ash Toyota Matrix with number plate ABC 585 AP.

“The suspect could not provide useful information to the police on duty and he tried to give them the sum of N250,000 so as to escape arrest, which further made the police to suspect him,” Muhammad stated.

During investigation, the suspect informed the police that a member of his syndicate, one Abdullahi, who lives in Abuja, was the one who stole the car on November 15, 2020, stressing that he was at large.
