Police speak on killing of Jennifer Robert, one other at Ochacho Carnival in Otukpo, reveal what happened

The Benue State Police Command has confirmed the killing of two persons on Christmas Day in Otukpo at the ongoing Ochacho Carnival.

The maiden edition of the event was sponsored by real estate mogul Mohammed Adah of the Ochacho Real Homes in conjunction with his NGO, Ochacho Foundation.

The event pulled down music stars like Davido, Zlatan, Magnito, Teni, Chris Morgan and others to the nation’s acclaimed Texas City.

The carnival, however, turned sour when an uninvited security man identified as Gordon allegedly stormed the venue and opened fire on fun seekers, killing two persons.

One of the victims was identified as Jennifer Robert.

Reacting to the incident, the Benue State Police Command Police Public Relations Officer, Kate Anene, said the suspected would surely face the law.

“Yes, we are aware of the incident. Two persons were killed at one Ochacho Carnival. We were told they were shot to death but we don’t have details of the suspect at the moment.”

When informed that a security personnel was said to be behind the trigger, the PRO said, “it doesn’t matter if the person is a civilian of security officer, all we know that a crime has been committed and the persons will face the law.  Nobody is above the law,” Anene told IDOMA VOICE.
