Police to honour slain officers in Delta Operation
The Nigeria Police Force has announced plans to honour six courageous officers who tragically lost their lives during an ambush in Delta State. The officers, who displayed exceptional bravery in the line of duty, fell victim to armed assailants while investigating the disappearance of three colleagues in the Ohoro Forest, Delta State. Additionally, six other officers remain missing-in-action.
In a statement issued today, the Force expressed deep sorrow over the loss and extended heartfelt condolences to the families, friends, and colleagues of the fallen officers. The deceased officers and those currently missing-in-action were identified as follows:

In response to this tragic incident, the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun Ph.D., NPM, has taken swift actions. The bodies of the six slain officers have been recovered after an intense search conducted by a combined team of police officers and security outfits. Efforts are ongoing to locate the other missing officers, with their families duly contacted.
The Inspector General has also ordered the expedited processing and payment of all entitlements due to the families of the fallen officers. This move aims to provide immediate support and alleviate any financial burdens they may face during this challenging period.
Also, the Police Force has launched a thorough investigation to ensure justice is served swiftly. As a result, five suspects linked to the attack have been arrested. These suspects are currently providing vital information to aid in the apprehension of all those involved in the cowardly act.
