Police uncover bandits’ hideout on Dadu hills in Kuje

A bandits’ hideout has been uncovered by officials of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT ) Police Command.

The den was uncovered at the Dadu hills in Kuje Area Council of the territory, engaging the assailants in a gun duel.

A statement by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Josephine Adeh said the development followed the receipt of actionable intelligence about the movement of suspected bandits holding some persons hostage in the area.

According to the statement, after sighting the gallant advancement of the team, the criminal elements opened fire, leading to the death of a member of the Destiny hunter.

The Police Public Relations Officer said the miscreants retreated with various degrees of gunshot injuries owing to the superior firepower of the team.

“Given the above, the victims were taken to the hospital for medical examination and subsequently reunited with their families”, the statement added.

The PPRO revealed that the operation recorded the rescue of four victims, “Mustahudeen Sani, Felix Vaa and Adamu Isa, all males who were reportedly kidnapped between the 23rd and 25th of May 2022 at kiyi In Kwali Area Council and Abdulsalam Uzugiz who was kidnapped at Angwan Gade extension of Kuje Area Council of the Territory.

“The FCT Commissioner of Police while extending condolences to the family of the deceased reassured residents of the Command’s unflinching commitment to ridding the Territory of crime and criminality.
