They were apprehended alongside 30 other suspects involved in various crimes including cultism, stealing, and illegal possession of firearms. The suspects were allegedly selling the fabricated arms to criminals.

The Lagos State Police Command’s spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed the details during a parade of the suspects at the command’s conference hall in Ikeja, Lagos. He explained that actionable intelligence led to the uncovering of the factory where firearms were being fabricated for criminal use.

During the operation, the police seized several items from the factory, including three single-barrel locally-made pistols, one double-barrel locally-made gun, one single-barrel locally-made gun, two single-barrel locally-made long guns, 10 expended cartridges, twelve long pipes, two drilling machines, one gas cylinder, one vehicle, and other fabricated tools.

The police also apprehended additional individuals connected to cult activities and possession of illegal firearms in different areas of the state.

Hundeyin urged residents with illegal possession of firearms to surrender them, assuring that they would not face arrest.
