Police warn Nigerians over ‘no gree for anybody’ slogan

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have raised the alarm over the popular ‘no gree for anybody’ slogan.

The forced cautioned Nigerian youths about its potential to ignite crises across the nation.

Since the onset of the new year, the catchy phrase has gained widespread popularity on social media platforms, predominantly among the youth demographic. Despite its seemingly harmless nature, the police assert that the slogan, humorously adopted as the nationwide motto for 2024, poses a significant security risk.

Muyiwa Adejobi, the spokesperson for the Nigeria Police Force, revealed during the briefing that intelligence reports indicate the potential for the catchphrase to escalate into a crisis of monumental proportions. He emphasized that, while it may be interpreted as “normal talk” by some, the security community perceives it as a “dangerous” slogan.

“The new slogan for 2024 for young people is ‘no dey gree for anybody,'” Adejobi stated. “We have been informed from our intelligence that this is coming from the retributionary sector that might likely cause problems across the country. ‘No dey gree for anybody’ is being seen as just normal talk. In the security community, we have seen it as a very dangerous slogan that can trigger crises.”
