A pastor with the Christ Liberty Evangelism Church in Rosco, Iyana Iyesi, Ota, named Oyenekan Oluwaseyi, along with three accomplices, Ibrahim Agbowewe (30), Suleiman Ogunbunmi (40), and Gafari Akinsanya (57), were apprehended in the Saje Area of Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, with a human skull in their possession.
The arrest, carried out in the early hours of Saturday by the state police command, followed a tip-off from concerned members of the public who noticed the suspects’ suspicious movements and activities in the area.
According to a source within the police command, the suspects confessed to their intention of using the human skull for ritualistic purposes. The police, acting on the provided intelligence, swiftly intervened and arrested the individuals.
Besides the human skull, law enforcement officers also recovered other incriminating items from the suspects, including a large calabash, a black Toyota Camry car, and a ram. These items were seized and taken to the police station as evidence.
State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola, confirmed the arrests, stating that the four suspects had admitted to their plans of utilizing the head for blessings and money rituals. Investigations are ongoing to unearth more details surrounding this disturbing incident.
