A tragic incident has come to light involving Reverend Oscar Mukahanana, a prominent figure within the United Methodist Church. It is reported that Reverend Mukahanana took his own life in the wake of a scandal related to his extramarital affair that had been exposed within the church’s WhatsApp group.
Details suggest that Reverend Mukahanana held the position of District Superintendent in the Harare East District of Zimbabwe and had engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a female youth from the congregation. Unfortunately, an audio recording of a private meeting and conversation between Reverend Mukahanana and the young lady found its way onto the church’s WhatsApp group.
In the recorded conversation, Reverend Mukahanana expressed his satisfaction at their intimate encounter, which occurred just before the young woman’s menstrual cycle. This revelation shocked and dismayed many within the church community.
The situation took a distressing turn when the audio recording began circulating widely within the WhatsApp group. Church members shared it with other groups, and some even created memes to mock and ridicule the District Superintendent for his involvement in the adultery scandal.
Overwhelmed by humiliation and embarrassment, Reverend Mukahanana tragically took his own life on a Friday, unable to bear the shame any longer.
In an official statement, the UMC Harare District expressed deep sorrow and announced the untimely passing of their beloved District Superintendent, Reverend Oscar Mukahanana. They promised to keep the church informed of further developments and funeral arrangements, requesting the church community’s support through prayers during this difficult time.
