‘Potable’ stabs best friend to death over N30 debt

A young man identified simply as Potable has reportedly stabbed his best friend of over a decade to death over a rift emanating from an argument of 30 naira debt.

The incident is said to have occurred at a bar in Ekiti state, where the duo were enjoying time out together with drinks.

Amos Ayoola Ajayi, the stabbed and deceased friend of Potable was oblivious of what was lying in wait for him, after the argument with his long-term friend who was also his “bestman” during his wedding in 2014.

Eyewitnesses explained that the argument seemed to bring their friendship to an end before it was supposedly resolved, with all, including Amos, reclining as they had been with their drinks, until the sudden reappearance of Potable, who took a bottle, broke and stabbed Amos multiple times in different parts of his body.

Potable, who resides at Itapa in Ekiti state is said to have been arrested by the police; however, official statement on the matter is yet to be heard from the police or their spokesman, ASP Sunday Abutu
