President Bola Tinubu has issued a directive for the Director-General and CEO of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Aliyu Abubakar Aziz, to commence a 90-day pre-retirement leave.
IDOMA VOICE reports that the directive will become effective on August 24, 2023, leading to Aziz’s retirement from service on November 24, 2023. This information was conveyed in a statement signed by presidential spokesperson Ajure Ngelale.
In response to Aziz’s retirement, President Tinubu has approved the appointment of Bisoye Coker-Odusote as the acting Director-General and CEO of NIMC for a 90-day period. Coker-Odusote’s appointment will begin on August 24, 2023, and she will subsequently assume the full role of NIMC Director-General/CEO for a term of four years starting on November 24, 2023.
President Tinubu has also made an appointment in the Directorate of Technical Aid Corps (DTAC). Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub has been appointed as the Director and CEO of DTAC. This appointment comes after the recent expiration of the tenure of the former DTAC Director and CEO, Dr. Pius Osunyikanmi, and it is effective immediately.
