President Tinubu makes new appointments

President Bola Tinubu has authorized the appointment of Barrister Farida Tukur Sada as his Special Assistant on Delivery and Coordination.

The presidency confirmed this appointment in a statement issued on Thursday.

President Tinubu has also sanctioned the appointment of Zeni Christine St. John as Special Assistant to the President on Delivery and Coordination.

Additionally, Aishatu Kabir has been appointed as the special assistant to the President on delivery and coordination.

These appointments will fall under the purview of the special adviser on policy and coordination/head central delivery coordination unit, Hadiza Bala Usman.

In a related development, All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Uche Nwosu, has urged President Bola Tinubu to implement a reward system to encourage excellence among Nigerian ministers and to dismiss non-performing ministers.

Nwosu made these remarks while addressing journalists in Abuja. He emphasized that although it is premature to assess the administration, which will mark one year in office on May 29, 2024, tangible indicators suggest that Tinubu’s leadership is headed in the right direction.

The APC chieftain specifically advocated for national honors to be bestowed upon ministers who excel in their duties.

He stated, “Let me stress that the President Tinubu administration is just approaching its one-year mark. When evaluating the performance of last year’s appointed ministers, one may ask, ‘How many have truly excelled?’

“However, we should also consider establishing a system of recognition whereby exceptional ministers are rewarded.

“In fact, if I were Mr. President, any minister who has performed exceptionally well would be awarded a national honor.

“I must say that Mr. President has made significant strides, evident in various sectors such as the development of infrastructure in the FCT, the appreciation of the Naira in the finance sector, efforts to generate revenue through solid minerals in the solid minerals sector, and progress towards refinery production.”
