The Oyachaba K’idoma, Prof. Dickson Akoh in the early hours of today, 4th May, 2021 came to the rescue of children seen trekking back home from Ugboju Community Secondary School, Okpachenyi at a time their mates were in classes receiving lessons.
Prof. Akoh who requested to know why they were going back home very early in the morning was briefed by master Agada Samuel and Aliacha Inalegwu, that they were been sent back home for lack of school fees.
Akoh who holds the Traditional tittle of Ogigo mebe k’Ugboju, (Traditional mirror of Ugboju Land) appealed to the eleven students to remain steadfast and supportive of their parents as they grow up.
He advised them to take their studies seriously and be good ambassadors of their school, Ugboju, Idoma, Benue State and Nigeria wherever they might find themselves in the future.
The Oyachaba K’idoma narrated how his days in his Alma mata, Ugboju Comm. Sec. Sch. Okpachenyi was, as he encouraged the students never to be discouraged because of the present challenges but remain focus and vision driven.
The school fees of all the eleven were cleared with receipt issued to them immediately.
The students whom were overwhelmed by his show of magnanimity and friendly disposition towards them as they returned back to classes to join other students, prayed God to continue to bless him and grant all his heart desires.
In the same manner, the principal of the school, Mr. Anefu Onyilo praised Prof. Akoh for being a true son of Ugboju and also for not letting down his Alma mata as he has done so much for the school in fixing some of its challenges.
