One year after he dropped his governorship ambition to support Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom’s second term, Professor Tor Joseph Iorapuu has been appointed as the new Vice Chancellor, Benue State University.
Iorapuu alongside three others had stepped down their ambition for incumbent Governor Samuel Ortom barely few minutes before the commencement of the party primaries held ten days ago in Makurdi.
He aid that his decision to withdraw from the race at the last minute was quite a difficult one.
“The decision to withdraw was a difficult one. But it became necessary for the interest of Benue state, and the party, following appeals from party stakeholders,” he had explained.
He hailed from Aliade in Benue State, Nigeria.
He attended Government College and College of Education, all in Katsina-Ala, Benue State; and the University of Jos, Nigeria, where he read Theatre Arts up to the PhD level.
He was a professor in the Department of Theatre and Film Arts, he is currently served as Dean, Faculty of Arts,University of Jos.
