Profile of Amin Muhammad Dalhatu, Ambassador-Designate
Amin Muhammad Dalhatu, a native of Jigawa State, is a career diplomat and Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He is widely respected for his contributions to international relations and bilateral diplomacy.
Dalhatu served as Nigeria’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Korea, where he led the Embassy of Nigeria in Seoul from around 2017 to 2023.
He presented his Letters of Credence in September 2017 during the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
During his tenure, he supervised diplomatic activities, consular services and initiatives aimed at strengthening Nigeria–Korea ties in trade, investment, technology, culture and education.
He also received and engaged high-profile personalities, including Reverend Mother Esther Abimbola Ajayi in 2019, an event that further showcased Nigeria’s cultural and global presence.
Before his ambassadorial posting to South Korea, Dalhatu progressed through the Nigerian Foreign Service as a career diplomat, undertaking various foreign assignments and representing Nigeria in multiple diplomatic capacities.
