Nwakuche Sylvester Ndidi is the newly appointed Acting Controller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS), effective December 15, 2024.
He hails from Oguta in Imo State, Nigeria, and was born on November 26, 1966.
Before his appointment, Ndidi served as the Deputy Controller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, overseeing the Training and Staff Development Directorate.
His extensive career in the NCS has been marked by significant contributions to the training and professional development of personnel within the service.
Ndidi is a fellow of the prestigious National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), a notable honor recognizing his expertise in policy and strategic development.
He has also been honored with the national award of Member of the Federal Republic (MFR) for his contributions to the country’s public service.
With his wealth of experience in corrections and security administration, Ndidi is expected to bring significant leadership to the NCS as Acting Controller-General.
His appointment comes after the expiration of Haliru Nababa’s tenure as Controller-General, following approval by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
