Students of the University of Abuja are currently protesting at Kilometre 23, Airport-Giri Road, FCT over their alleged unmet 4/4 demand by the institution’s regulatory authorities.

The irate students stormed the area in the early hours of Monday 1st February 2021 demanding that the authorities fulfil their demands which include:

Reopening and Extension of School fees payment portal till the end ot the session

No Late Registration fee including Add and Drop

Review & Reduction of School fees ahead of next session

Postponement of First Semester Examination to Sth of March 2021.

The students also took to social media using the hashtag #EndUniabujaOppression to intensify their protest.

One of the students of the institution our reporter that : “The protest is going on because the school fees portal that is normally open till the end of the session now has a deadline and is presently shut. This doesn’t even make sense because there was a huge increment to the fees and people couldn’t pay up on time.

“Also, the course registration portal had issues so many people couldn’t do theirs. This is a fault from the school. But now people are made to pay 5k for late registration.

“Again, there is so much rush on the students right now and he wants us to write our exams on Feb 15 which is so inconsiderate. So these are the demands.”
