Heavy congestion was recorded on Monday morning along the Kugbo-Nyanya axis of the Abuja-Keffi Expressway as commuters encountered delays linked to a planned protest over the continued detention of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

Motorists heading into the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) reported gridlock, with several lanes partially blocked by parked vehicles and early protest-related activities.

The traffic disruption left many commuters stranded, while security operatives were seen positioned at strategic points to maintain order and prevent escalation.

The Kugbo-Nyanya corridor has previously witnessed similar bottlenecks during protests and security operations, often leading to prolonged delays for travellers entering Abuja
