PSG ban Coca Cola and Ice tea during players’ mealtimes

PSG Sporting director, Luís Campos has appointed a nutritionist for the Parisian first team, who has banned both Coca Cola and Ice Tea from the club’s meals, according to Le Parisien.

The French capital team announced last month that a nutritionist and a psychologist will be be recruited to improve “team spirit’ through meetings.

The nutritionist who is a former Spanish footballer but had undergone sporting nutrition trainings, is believed to have been employed on a full-time basis and has been busy with the team.

As revealed by Le Parisien , the team won’t have access to sweetened drinks during their meals together, ‘breakfast and lunch’.

PSG’s coach, Christopher Galtier is known as a no nonsense coach, and often regarded as ‘no bling bling’. “Today we must be realistic; we don’t want flashy, bling-bling any more, it’s the end of the glitter,” the former Lille coach told Le Parisien. “No one is above the club. If a player doesn’t want to respect the rules in place then he has no place here.”

Upon his appointment, Galtier announced that any late player arrival to training will be sent home, he also said players will not be allowed to use their mobile phones during breakfast and lunch.

Unlike the erstwhile sporting director, Leornardo Araujo, Campos’ is helping to implement a code of conduct, focusing on the academy and ending the club’s pursuit of top players.
