Rajasthan Tourism Department is all set to host Braj Holi Mahotsav, a 3-day Holi festival from March 12 to 14. As per the reports, the festival will be held in Deeg, Bharatpur, and Kaman.
Director of the Tourism Department Nishant Jain said that the East of Rajasthan is imbued with the essence of Braj, and the annual Braj Holi festival of Rajasthan Tourism Department celebrates its rich traditions. He added that the festival will enthral visitors of all ages with colours of Braj from local sports to folk dance and music.
Jain further added that while the Braj Mahotsav will commence from Bharatpur with popular local sports competitions, such as kabaddi and kho-kho at the Lohagarh Stadium, it will be followed by mehendi‘ and rangoli making, moustache, and turban tying competition events. Further, Mega Night-Cultural Evening will be organised on the same day, where renowned singer Vidya Shah will be gracing the event with her melodious voice.
The Tourism Director further informed that the second day of the festival will be held at Deeg, where popular local sports activities like rope pulling, kabaddi, etc., will be organised at the city’s Mela Maidan along with mehendi art and rangoli making competitions, along with moustache and turban tying events.
He added that while the visitors will have an opportunity to witness a glorious colourful fountain show during the evening, performances by well-known Kathak dancer Manjari Chaturvedi, Rajasthani folk artists, at the iconic Palace of Deeg, will keep them hooked.
Jain also stated that on the closing day, Kaman will be hosting various forms of Holi, including Lathmar Holi, Gulal Holi, Dudh-Dahi Holi, and Laddu Holi in various temples of the city. This will be followed by Shobhayatra of Rajasthani folk artists from Gopinath Temple to Vallabh Ji Temple. He concluded that Krishna Bhajan Sandhya and Braj Rasiya Gaayan will mark the conclusion of the festival.
