We read, with amusement, a report published by a mushroom and faceless facebook account called ‘Idoma Facts’ wherein the poster said Senator Abba Moro courted APC and joined to chant ‘NEXT LEVEL’ in Obi local government area on Thursday where he went to identify with Rt. Hon. Nick Eworo, an APC Chieftain, who buried his father.
The post is laughable and a figment of the imagination of those behind the account. Senator Moro has no reason, whatsoever, to dump the party he has identified with since 1999, and which gave him an opportunity to be local government Chairman, Minister and now a Senator. A party that is not threatened in Benue South and Benue State at large by any other political party.
In his well-publicized message at the burial, the Senator jocularly told Hon. Nick that he left the ‘main building’ (PDP) for the boys quarters (APC), a statement that attracted cheering from the crowd.
The post is mischievous and malicious, it should be disregarded by all. If the attendance of the Senator at the burial is what gave them that impression, then they missed it. Senator Moro does not see himself as Senator of PDP members alone, but Senator of ALL.
Like he has been saying, the roads he’s constructing, the health centres he’s building, the classroom blocks he’s constructing, and the empowerment programmes he’s organizing are not being used by PDP members alone but by people from all political parties. He will continue to be a member of PDP, supporter of PDP and Senator of all.
