Reaction as CCTV captures two thieves stealing drainage cover in Lagos (VIDEO)

A video of CCTV footage showing the moment two thieves stole a drainage cover in Agege, Lagos has gone viral.

The men, hiding under the cover of darkness, removed two drainage covers, carried them into a tricycle, and drove off.

The video has sparked numerous reactions online with many calling for stricter sanctions for those who damage public property, thereby endangering the lives of others.

The incident has also generated conversations around the attitude of citizens towards the public property.

“See the kind of country we live in. The state provides infrastructure. We steal and vandalize it, after which we blame government for not providing it,” an observer said.
