Fresh facts have emerged on the real reason the Borno State Government shut down top banks, Polaris, Ecobank, Access Bank in the state.
IDOMA VOICE recalls that the financial institutions were sealed during the week by the Borno Geographic Information Service – BOGIS led by the Executive Secretary BOGIS Engr. Adam B. Bababe alongside other staff of the agency.
The development followed expiration of the deadline on the notices, press release, and announcement issued by BOGIS mandating all property owners particularly where CBOs & NGOs are either using as offices, residences or warehouses on the need to update and perfect their documents to enable the agency update its registry for efficient digitalization.
It was gathered that the affected banks failed to regularize their documents and have further breached terms of land allocation.
While on the exercise the Executive Secretary BOGIS said “The agency has no vendetta with any NGOs or CBOs, in fact we appreciate the service to humanity in which does organization operate. What we are after is the documentation of the said properties.”
