The Nigerian Federal Government announced that the recruitment exercise for the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) and the Federal Fire Service (FFS) will be completed by the end of September 2024.

Ja’afaru Ahmed, Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday in Abuja. He noted that the next stage of the recruitment process would commence in August.

This development follows the board’s earlier failure to conclude the recruitment by the previously scheduled date of June 15, 2024. Ahmed explained that the delay was due to a nationwide manpower audit, which has recently been completed.

“The board will begin the next stage of the recruitment exercise in August and will conclude the exercise before the end of September,” he stated.

The audit was conducted across the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

Ahmed assured that all shortlisted candidates would be notified of the next stage through their phone numbers and email addresses.
