Remains of Deborah Okwori leave Lagos for burial in Benue
The body of 30-year-old interior designer Deborah Eneyi Ohekuru Okwori, known professionally as Deb’rah Porsche, has been moved from Lagos to Benue State for burial following her tragic killing last week.
A service of songs was held on Sunday, September 21, in Ayetoro, Ogun State.
Family members announced that her remains departed the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital on Tuesday, September 23, with interment scheduled for Wednesday, September 24, at Ugaga Ohuhu Owo in Oju Local Government Area of Benue.
Police confirmed that a male suspect identified as the victim’s former boyfriend has been remanded at Kirikiri Correctional Centre in Lagos pending the next court appearance.
He was arrested after allegedly disguising as a dispatch rider to gain access to Deborah’s estate before fatally stabbing her.
Relatives said Deborah had recently completed her National Youth Service Corps programme and was establishing her interior design brand when the attack occurred.
Rights advocates and the family continue to demand a thorough investigation and swift justice.
