Reno Omokri, Sarki slam Peter Obi over absence at Buhari’s burial
Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, and Northern youth influencer, Sarki, have criticised Labour Party leader Peter Obi for failing to attend the state burial of former President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Katsina State, on Tuesday.
The burial, which drew top dignitaries including President Bola Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar, and Yemi Osinbajo, saw Obi’s absence sparking backlash online.
Omokri, on his verified X handle, accused Obi of showing disregard for the North.
“Tinubu was in Daura from start to finish. Arewa, remember who was not there,” he wrote.
He also referenced Obi’s past remarks about former Head of State, Yakubu Gowon, and his recent comments on Nnamdi Kanu’s trial.
Sarki, in a similar post, said Obi’s no-show could cost him Northern support in the 2027 presidential race.
“This is the same man who expects northerners to hand over Nigeria to him. Let’s see how he plans to become president without our votes,” he said.
DAILY POST recalls that both Omokri and Sarki have previously criticised Obi on political grounds.
