A tanker laden with 33,000 litres of petrol overturned at Olorunsogo, along Lagos-Ibadan expressway spilling its content.
It was learnt that the incident occurred on Thursday morning.
After the accident, residents were seen using buckets and kegs to scoop fuel.
Eyewitnesses account noted that despite the presence of some operatives in the area, the residents continued scooping the fuel unabated.
”Many of us around that area cannot open our shops. We are warning these people scooping fuel, but they wouldn’t just listen to us,” Shola Aina, a resident, told the press.
