Retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, Okoye Ikemefuna is dead

The demise of Retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Okoye Ikemefuna, has been officially announced by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun.
A statement released on Friday by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, conveyed the sad news: “The Inspector General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, announces with deep sorrow the passing of retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Okoye Ikemefuna, who peacefully departed from this world on 7th January 2024.
“In this challenging time, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.
“Born on 15th June 1955, AIG Okoye Ikemefuna joined the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet ASP in 1984. His distinguished career and dedicated service left an enduring impact on the law enforcement community.
“His commitment to duty shone brightly during his tenure as CP Ogun state from 2010 to 2014 and AIG Zone 11 Osogbo in 2015.
“The Inspector General of Police expresses sincere sympathy to the family, friends, and colleagues of the late AIG Okoye R. Ikemefuna RTD, offering prayers for solace during this challenging period. May his soul rest in peace.”
