The death has been announced of Revd Fr Nicholas Tarbo of the Catholic Diocese of Makurdi.
Rev Fr Tarbo, 74, is believed to be the oldest priest of Makurdi Diocese.
The cleric was born in 1947 and ordained to the Presbyterate of Makurdi on the 12th October, 1974.
Until his death, Fr. Nicholas was on the Interdiocesan Translation Committee with the office in Gboko Diocese.
He died in the afternoon, 1st February, 2021 at St John’s Hospital, Gboko after a brief illness.
The Revd. Fr. Nicholas was also a principal of Mt. St. Michael’s Secondary School, Aliade from 1989-1996. The school is the oldest Catholic Secondary School in the North Central of Nigeria. It was founded on 2nd February, 1953 at Korinya, present day Konshisha LGA of Benue State by Holy Ghost Catholic Missionaries. The school later moved to its present Location in Aliade during the fall session of 1954.
He was the 9th Principal of the school.
